The Vale Community Hospital

Welcome to The League of Friends website

Illustration of the Vale HospitalThe League of Friends is a group of members and volunteers working in partnership with the staff of Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust to provide community support for the services of its local hospital.

The hospital serves an area extending from the Cotswolds, right across Berkeley Vale and its members and volunteers are drawn from these areas. The Friends main role is to raise funds and encourage support from those who use or may use its services.

Our main aim is to provide equipment that the NHS may not currently be able to provide from its own funds, especially additional or improved equipment that will enhance the quality of patient care or treatment or speed their recovery. Some of our volunteers also perform a valuable role assisting the hospital staff in the provision of non clinical services to patients, their families or carers.

To be successful, we need help from volunteers to provide support for our fundraising activities or become directly involved in the hospital. We appreciate donations which help us to buy equipment for the hospital. If you would like to be kept informed of the friends work, become a member.

See our News and Events section for details of some of the items already purchased in agreement with nurses and GP’s providing care in the hospital
