Fete in Hospital Car Park

The weather was kind and our May fete raised almost £1000. This money boosts the League of Friends funds and enables us to provide equipment for The Vale. The money is used to purchase equipment which enables more services to be offered at the Vale.

Ukulele evening, Saturday 16 September 2017 as our Ukulele evening was so popular in 2016, another one was organised for 2017. All those attending really enjoyed the evening and over £200 was raised.

Cake days are organised several times a year and generally raise around £300. Our next cake days are organised to coincide with the opening and closing of the Christmas shop. See details on our events page.

The League of Friends spent £27,000 on equipment last year. Some of the items purchased were:


Six more allotments are due to be established in the hospital grounds. They are proving quite popular and there is now a waiting list. A gardening club has been set up so allotment holders can share ideas

Patients in Hospital at Christmas As in previous years, the League of Friends have provided funds for a small gift for those in hospital at Christmas and a few extra treats for their Christmas stay in hospital.

In 2017 we boosted our funds through several events as outlined above. This was down to the efforts of a very small committee. If you would like to join us or volunteer your help in any way, please contact us – see contact details on our membership page.
